The Warcraft Movie, From A WoW Gamer’s Perspective
Finally, Warcraft movie is here! Every gamer who has spent time playing WOW will be fascinated by the movie adaptation, The “Warcraft”. With some people arguing that the video-game-movie curse will be the downfall of Warcraft movie, this seems to be more like a strength to this movie. To start with, the mythical creatures, exotically named characters and magical spells of the WOW game have actually been brought out in a better way in the movie.
The Warcraft movies follows the invasion of humans by orcs, as is in the original game; Orcs and Humans. The orcs flee their dying homeland Draenor, and set upon unsuspecting humans at Azeroth seeking to control the land. One of the orc soldiers, Durotan (Toby Kebbell) is opposed to the brutality of his fellow orcs who are led by Blackhand (Clancy Brown) and the power hungry Gul’dan (Daniel Wu). Durotan believes that a solution without bloodshed is the right way out. On the other hand, the humans are forced to protect themselves and are led by Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel of the “Vikings”). He is a knight who is devoted to his King (Dominic Cooper) and Queen (Ruth Negga). Draka (Anna Galvin), Durotan’s stern mate, delivers an orc baby. On the other hand, Callan (Burkely Duffield) Lothar’s son, was to prove to his dad his heroics on the battlefield. You will see these family ties exploited in the whole movie. Ditto Garona (Paula Patton) is a slave who claims to be half-human half-orc. She finds her way between the two sides and she is quick to work her way to Lothar. Her green skin and huge fangs popping out of her jaw makes her look fit for Halloween. Another character, Medivh (Ben Foster) is a reclusive wizard and a guardian of Azeroth who practices dark magic. It is fun to see Medivh doing his magic as magic is very entrenched in this movie. Azeroth reacts to the attack by orcs by calling upon the guardian of the kingdom, Medivh. Among the humans, Medivh can pass for the funniest and most interesting. He has a world weariness attitude and makes fun when he talks of the mistakes he has made. He does his magic well although critics argue that with the tools at his disposal, he could have done better. The humans spend lots of time dealing with Garona, the half-orc half-human creature. After she was shunned by her kind, the orcs, Garona is at ease with the humans and therefore acts as the bridge between these two fighting sides. She is even accepted into the inner circle of the humans, though this feels forced, and goes to the extent of having a romantic relationship with the king. She becomes a key member of the in the movie as she is involved in most of the events in the movie. Eventually, these two antagonizing sides descend into a salvo of battles that do much damage than solve anything. A WOW gamer will be excited that this movie adaptation is loyal to the original game as there is so much similarity. However, the moviegoer may not understand what is going on as he has no experience of the game and the events in the game. Warcraft acts as the superhero origin story that keeps you glued to the screen and eventually leaves you hanging. In the end, WOW gamers get what they have always wished for while to the moviegoer, it is a great experience to learn all about the video game in 120 minutes.
There are lots of amazing visual effect shots in the movie and most performance is up to the standard. The battles are a major boost to the movie mainly because of the orcs who are well detailed and because has substituted the CG with effective sound effects. Though you can’t place Warcraft movie at par with the Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, it is a great adaptation that has outclassed the video-game-movie curse. Warcraft ends with suspense that can only be answered by a sequel movie. Now that the movie adaptation is finally here, make sure you follow up the movie with lots of video game playing. The movie will give you a great insight of what to expect in the video game. To make your video game more fun and exciting, it is always good to buy WOW gold which unlocks more doors to have fun. With WOW gold, you can give your playing time a re-definition.
My Experience Buying Wow Gold I am one big admirer of online wow gold. It has taken several wow gold purchases to reach the level I am in today. I buy my wow gold from Raiditem.com, a legitimate wow gold and item dealer. Every time I need gold, the seller, Raiditem.com, will ask me to post an item for sale, then he sends me the amount of gold we have agreed upon. I love their service and their legitimacy. I settled on them as I am always convinced I will get the value for my money and that am always safe! I know that we can’t go back and change ten years of Warcraft in our games. But frankly, I almost wish we could. I liked this Llane, this Lothar, this Durotan and Draka and Doomhammer, this Medivh and Khadgar, this Garona and Blackhand and I wouldn’t mind getting to see where this setting goes from here. Hopefully I’ll get to see a sequel!
