Although we mentioned that patch 7.2.5 will bring some smaller changes before, another big change is planned to be made to Legion, which is the change to Mythic Keystone depletion mechanic. Mythic + Dungeons were introduced in Legion, and it implement another way to reward players with additional challenges. Here the largest selection of

However, according to the players’ feedback, they didnot work as the Blizzard expected. Mythic Keystone dungeons are timed, and the rewards vary depending on how quickly a group finishes. Players are failing to complete one of the these dungeons within the allotted time. So the official community manager Lore responded the players about the forthcoming tweaks to the Mythic Keystone Depletion. There are 2 main changes worth your attention:
- keys for Mythic+ dungeons will no longer deplete. If the run is finished within the allotted time, a new key will be granted for a random dungeon 1-3 levels higher. If the dungeon isn't finished in the required time, a new key will be issued for a random dungeon one level lower. If it's not finished at all, the key will be for the same dungeon but one level lower.
- There will be only a single chest rewarded at the end of a dungeon regardless of how quickly it was defeated. Finishing a Mythic+ dungeon will have a single chest with two items and AP inside. If beaten within the time limit, a third item will be inside. Keystones will continue to upgrade.
Here is what Lore mentioned in the blue post.
“we’re going to try the following:
- Completing the run on time will have the same results it currently does in 7.2: you’ll get a new Keystone for a random dungeon that’s 1-3 levels higher than the one you just completed, based on how quickly you finished.
- If you complete the dungeon but don’t make the timer, you’ll get a Keystone for a random dungeon that’s 1 level lower than the one you just used.
- If you don’t complete the dungeon at all, you’ll have a Keystone for the same dungeon that’s one level lower than the one you just used.”
“With that in mind, here’s the changes we’re planning to test:
- You no longer receive additional chests at the end of a run for completing it quickly.
- When you finish a Mythic+ dungeon, the chest at the end will contain two items and an appropriate amount of Artifact Power.
- If you beat the timer, regardless of how quickly, there will be a third item in the chest.
- Keystones can still upgrade by 2 or 3 steps, so you can quickly get to a difficulty level appropriate for you.”
