To begin their journey in the Dragon Isles, players will take a boat from either Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Although this is a joint expedition rather than the military race seen in Mists of Pandaria, they will sail right alongside one another as they enter the Isles, allowing players to board the opposing ship. Upon arrival players will be greeted by a brand new land, featuring:
Four leveling zones which players will progress through as they make their way to level 70. Although the first time through the campaign will be linear, subsequent leveling will have more options to explore the zones in any order. Each of these zones will express the primal forces of the world - from roiling magma to icy plains.
Waking Shores are a wild untamed land which features the Red Dragonflight and the ancestral home of the Black Dragonflight. Ancient enemies of the dragonflights, Djaradin half-giants riding lava mammoths, have also awakened, while Wrathion joins heroes in exploring his ancestral home.
Ohn'ahran Plains are big wide open plains with increased draw distance, featuring the Green Dragonflight, a mighty clan of Centaur, and Ohn'ahra: the wild god of the wind.
The Azure Span is one of the biggest zones to date, inspired by the Grizzly Hills with a lot of elevation change. Mainly covered in snow and icy rivers, it's home to various types of Gnolls, the Tuskarr, and the Blue Dragonflight! Throughout the zone, players will follow the story of Kalecgos, as he explores Sindragosa's archives.
Thaldraszus is the fourth and final zone he seat of power for all five dragonflights, featuring huge vertical mountains and cave systems. It features Valdrakken, the main city and player hub in Dragonflight; each flight has its own section within the city, such as red and green dragon themed gardens, as well as an auction house!
